The Middle Niobrara NRD is seeking landowner input for the development of an Environmental Assessment plan in two Cherry County watersheds located south of Merriman NE and Gordon NE. The watershed plan is needed to address stream degradation, bank erosion, inundated hay meadows, calving areas, infrastructure associated with excessive flows, and other water management issues. The public planning meeting will be held at the Merriman Dance Hall at 103 Mills Street in Merriman, NE from 6 PM to 8 PM on February 16, 2021. The meeting provides an opportunity to learn about the proposed Watershed Plan Environmental Assessment, the NEPA process, and to submit comments on issues of environmental concern within the watershed.
