COOPERATION WITH OTHERS

The NRD cooperates with several federal, state, and local agencies such as: Natural Resources Conservation Service, Farms Services Agency, US Forest Service, Bureau Of Reclamation, US Fish and Wildlife Service, National Park Service, Nebraska Association of Resources Districts, Nebraska Resources Commission, UNL Extension Services, Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D), Nebraska Forest Service, Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality, Nebraska Department of Natural Resources, Nebraska Game & Parks Commission, South Dakota Conservation Districts, Ainsworth Irrigation District, Niobrara Council, county boards and other NRDs.

The Middle Niobrara policies are established by a seven member board of directors elected from six sub-districts. Members of the Board are elected to four year terms with three of the sub-districts up for election every two years.
